This design is very dear to my heart- I am a strong believer in positive vegan messaging, and I like my t shirt designs to start conversations, not end them.
So, so many people don't understand the cruelty of animal based farming, especially egg and dairy production, in which the cruelty is slightly more well hidden- I can't count the number of times I've had people say to me 'giving milk doesn't kill cows' or 'laying eggs doesn't kill hens', completely missing the point- the dairy and egg industries are inextricably linked to the meat industry- they ARE the meat industry, and when their bodies are worn out and less productive, at a fraction of their natural lifespan, cows that have 'given' milk and egg-laying hens will be killed alongside their counterparts who were raised for meat.
Male chicks from egg-laying breeds of hen are useless to the egg industry and the meat industry (they don't put on weight fast enough) so they will be killed immediately after hatching, as soon as they have been sexed, and the methods used are absolutely horrific.
So...please don't eat eggs!
