I made some ANNOYING VEGAN stickers and badges recently and they sold like vegan marshmallows at Maidstone and Hastings vegan fairs recently, they made people smile, and vegans bought dozens of them, so I decided to make the design into a t shirt as well.
I actually find most vegans to be LESS annoying than non-vegans.
It is makes little sense to stereotype over half a million people in this country who are all different and have come to veganism by a thousand different routes and experiences, when all they have in common is compassionate lifestyle choices.
I think the stereotype of the ''annoying vegan'' has arisen simply because non-vegans often seem to feel guilty and uncomfortable about their own lifestyle choices when around vegans, often without the vegan even doing or saying anything, and that discomfort is then turned on vegans who are accused of guilt tripping, preaching, extremism, humourlessness etc etc especially if the vegans politely answer questions about why they are vegan 'because milking cows doesn't kill them' etc etc
So I decided that we should own this and wear the title with pride, and maybe by doing so we will challenge the stereotype and show how ridiculous and unfair it is.
NB In order to do this of course you must make sure that if you are wearing your t shirt you AREN'T actually being annoying, or you will just set the whole process back by about five years. ;-)
Black t shirts are organic and printed in white, bottle green t shirts are printed in white, and grey marl is printed in black- green and grey are Fruit of the Loom and non-organic.
NB. From March 2020, after 8 years of raising money to save badgers, as well as hundeds of pounds for Sussex wildlife rescue, Sussex, Kent and National fox rescue, Sea Shepherd, farmed animal sanctuaries, dog rescue etc etc we will be broadening our focus and instead of selling benefit designs specific to different causes will now be donating 10% of ALL our profits from website sales to help independent wildlife rescue. The only exception to this is our Cheshire Against the Cull design from which we will still continue to donate £5.00 from each sale to this worthy group.
I hand print to order so please allow a few days for the magic to happen, especially during the badger cull, and above all, be nice-always.
Please sign up (on our home page) for email newsletters so we can send you money-off vouchers, special offers and news of brand new designs and events we will be attending. We promise not to email you more than once a month! We donate so much of the profits from BFM that we have no advertising budget, so staying in touch with existing customers really helps us. :-)
